Mission and Values

Mission

We work to support the Ugandan village of Mafubira become an autonomous, self-sustaining community through a relentless pursuit of compassion, mercy, and justice. Everything we do is a reflection of this mission and the values that drive it.

Values

  • We value Gospel. We have been transformed by the Gospel message, and we believe in its power to change the world.
  • We value Compassion. Our broken hearts for the lives devastated by the HIV/AIDS crisis moves us to action.
  • We value Mission. As we move to respond, we invite others to join God’s work in Uganda.

Vision

We seek to love, support, and invest in the village of Mafubira. We believe that compassion is a choice, and that we have been given a tremendous opportunity to walk alongside a community that continually faces the devastations of AIDS, poverty, civil war, and government corruption.

We seek to create relationships with our brothers and sisters in Uganda, a better understanding of the challenges they endure, and inspire compassionate hearts as we work to equip those in the Seattle community and beyond who feel compelled to join us in taking action against injustices that orphans, widows, and other vulnerable children of Uganda face daily.

We seek to be continually in search of a deeper understanding of our small role in the larger field that is international development. Tusubira recognizes that there are no easy answers on this journey, and that we must move forward humbly, patiently, and responsibly, as we experience growths and setbacks as an organization.
